Self Portrait
In this project I did for my photography class, I took several pictures of myself, with the first being a close up of my eye. In the reflection of my iris, I superimposed my senior photo that was professionally taken a few weeks before. I also took some pictures of a local lake to put in the whites of my eye. To turn my eye into the starscape it is here, I used a lot of brushwork and blending as well as a filter.
I find this work rather reflective, not only in its meaning, but also in memory. As I was on my way towards graduation when I made this, I found myself reflecting on my life so far and where it would go, what I would explore, and like the great expanse of space, I could go anywhere with myself.
