The second project we did was a solar boat/car. The goal was to use a set box of supplies to design and assemble them as a team. We used 3D Studio Max to create specialized wheels. The front wheels had a hemisphere engraved in them. This was to fit the flotation device, which was a ping pong ball. The rear wheels were paddle wheels so it could drive on land and paddle on water. This design worked well, but since we put it together so fast and had plenty of time to test, we over tested and the water warped our car/boat. Not only that, but the motor also got wet and had severely reduced power. Because of this, when it came time to show off our vehicle, it failed to compete.
